Tata Nano, the world’s cheapest car is being modified to make it readable for sale in U.S. The car is going under the process of modification to meet emissions and safety standards of U.S. The company has not disclosed the price but it is expected that the price would be more than the price charged in India. Ratan Tata, chairman of Tata group of companies has said that the car would take three years for US distribution. Before Tata Nano can be sold in US the car’s 623cc would have to be retrofitted to meet U.S. pollution standards. The few things that have to be modified like airbags have to be added, the roof has to be strengthened and the front bumper has to be lengthened.
